American Airlines Worst, Southwest Airlines Best

Dec. 20 (Bloomberg) — Carol Massar of Bloomberg reports her findings on the Bloomberg Rankings official analysis of airlines’ operating performance and service charges. The analysis found that American Airlines rated the worst performance and Southwest Airlines rated the best.

The list evaluated the largest 10 U.S. air carriers, as identified by passenger traffic on domestic flights. Lisa Murphy and Adam Johnson also commented. (Source: Bloomberg)

I have been an American Airlines passenger in the past but have had a couple bad experiences with them this year and have decided to try another airline in 2012. Love your website!

    I’m not sure how I feel about this merger between Southwest and Airtran. It sounds more like an acquisition to me and very little of the old AirTran will remain.

  3. I wish these airlines would stop the constant mergers and acquisitions. I know it’s business, but it’s so hard to build a loyalty to an airline and then have it get acquired by another airline. I have lots of reward points with AirTran and I’ll be starting over now.
